The Mad Music Asylum is a 4 hour weekly streaming radio program and now a 24 hour streaming radio station featuring music that is too good to be ignored and tunes that were largely forgotten by commercial radio. The Asylum features a new show every Sunday evening at 8 pm eastern time and consistently plays a diverse mix of music from the 1960’s through today and is aimed at the late baby boom generation and beyond. 20% of the music played are tracks that radio listeners have come to know and love over the years. 50% are drawn from familiar artists but deep cuts that listeners may not be familiar with and 30% is music that fits the genre and tone but has largely been ignored by commercial radio. The show is packed with great music, commentary and special segments each week.
The Mad Music Asylum is hosted by “your favorite uncle Duke”, a professionally trained sound engineer who since 1982 has worked in television, radio, audio and video production and is a student of and authority on music and music history. Duke’s musical tastes runs from the baroque classical period through today and includes extensive musical knowledge in a variety of genres like classical, opera, traditional and modern jazz, blues, bluegrass, soul, r&b, roots music, but his passion is rock ‘n roll.
