Mike Leslie Band has created an effortlessly cool sound which harkens back to when songwriters were blunt and emotions were raw. Think Elliott Smith with B.B. King on guitars. The hot summer of 2012 saw the renaissance of Downtown Detroit and the formation of the Mike Leslie Band out of the big bang of old structure, new generation and classic Motor City-born musical styles. MLB offer their eclectic blues-jam twist on pop progressions over rock structure; Leslie has strong blues and classic-rock guitar chops yet writes around hooks and lyrics to produce urban sonic jewels.

Ricardo Duran is a master at his craft who hails from New York. “A Sucker For Sorrow” is a strong song written by Ricardo Duran, but sung just as so by a female lead. It will remind people of the ’90s darling, Vonda Shepard who belted out the theme song for Fox’s “Ally McBeal” and was featured on the show as well.  If you’re a fan of adult contemporary music, check out all Ricardo Duran has to offer on both sides of the table.

Jana Pochop began her vastly diverse career as an independent singer-songwriter when, as a child, she asked for a drum kit and her parents got her a guitar instead. She discovered Mary Chapin Carpenter at the age of 11 and found a beautiful purpose for that guitar. Her instinct for deep grooves and poignant lyrics are obvious on her most recent musical offering. Jana Pochop hails from the culturally rich Albuquerque, NM. She says it was at the University where she learned how to learn…a skill that she uses constantly while maneuvering the ever-changing music business.

Pudge was formed in the small town of Stockbridge, Wisconsin. They play music that is catchy, original and is a style all their own. No local band has stayed as true to themselves as this band. In the 10+ years they have been together the band has refused to bow to trends. As grunge music turned into pop punk, and pop punk turned into emo, and emo morphed into screamo, etc. Pudge has always been...themselves. This band truly loves playing the songs they wrote for the people who want to hear them. Pudge loves music....you should love Pudge.
